we rented a castle

we rented a castle.

yes... a whole medieval-ass castle, all to shoot our next campaign, 'SANCTUM'.you cant say we're not dedicated to the craft.

we flew 24 hours, rented a fleet of cars and flew up the Parisian highway into uncharted fields (for us) where you couldn't lean on English being the most-used language in the world.

right before I'd gotten on my flight from Bali (picking up some clutch samples), our production agency told us the castle we'd originally booked had fallen through. luckily, in the same breath, they explained they'd managed to pull some strings and get an even better castle for us, one that actually doubled as a museum in the day - that's how legit this place was.

fast forward - we rocked up and it was incredible.

more than 30 rooms, every single one decorated beautifully.we picked france for a reason. we wanted something with real gothic bones and ornamentation. luxurious interiors, moody light, architecture that's been standing for centuries and looks like it.

the castle gave us all of it without trying.it was worth every cent.

right as we were about to leave, after 12 hours in the castle, someone on the team opened a cupboard in the main hall - just out of curiosity. there was nothing assuming about it, but surprisingly, it turned out to be a full secret room:

turns out a castle has more stories in it than you go looking for.
