we left the castle and drove into paris.

after shooting at the castle, the second day we drove into paris with the plan to shoot photos in a cemetery. specifically, père lachaise. if you haven't been, it's less "cemetery" and more a small city of tombs, some of them a few centuries old, most of them more ornate than anything we've ever designed. half the collection could've been sketched right there on the spot.

we spent hours there, shooting between the tombs. no real plan past that.

eventually we ended up at notre dame. its one of the most insane things we've stood in front of. it made me think art really peaked a long time ago, and that modern architecture is making our world less interesting, and beyond that, devoid of storytelling and symbols of meaning.

by the way, this collection isn't just jewelry.

sanctum comes with clothing too. two leather jackets, a couple of belts, and a shirt. between the tombs and the cathedral,

we found a lot of inspiration for the collections that come after this one.

we closed out the day with the whole team over dinner, watching france play in the world cup, a few beers in.
